The Department of Physiotherapy, a constituent unit of Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth (Deemed-to-be University), Udaipur, is a pioneer institution offering Bachelor of Physiotherapy (B.P.T.), Master of Physiotherapy (M.P.T.), and Ph.D. programs in Physiotherapy.
The department is equipped with comprehensive infrastructure and is situated in a peaceful academic environment that fosters focused learning. It boasts well-equipped laboratories, a rich library, and advanced instruments incorporating the latest technology to support both academicandclinicalexcellence.
The teaching methodology followed in the department is of a high standard. Our highly dedicated and experienced faculty members maintain a cordial relationship with students and strive to provide individual attention.They take proactive initiatives in guiding and supporting students, ensuring their academic as well as professional growth.
The department is affiliated with well-established hospitals, providing students with ample opportunities for practical exposure through OPDs and clinical training. About Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy has its origin in ancient times with advent of manipulation and massage in China circa 3000 BC. Hippocrates in 460 BC Described Massage and Hydrotherapy. Physiotherapy grew rapidly after Second World War with spinal injury units, orthopaedics hospitals and chest clinics providing new challenges to the profession. Major conditions managed by physiotherapists can be grouped into 4 categories :


Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy

Various modalities including stretching, endurance manual techniques, soft tissue therapy, cryotherapy, heat therapy are available & it also deals with sports injuries.

Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy treat acute problems like asthma, acute chest infection trauma, chronic condition like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cystic fibrosis, post myocardial infarction (MI) pneumonia & dealing in ICU and ICCU.

Neurological Physiotherapy

Treatment of neurological condition that is based on exercises to restore sensory motor function and improve motor patterns, coordination of movements and to provide & Improve good quality of life.

Integumentary Physiotherapy

Treatment of conditions involving skin and related organs including debridement of wound, burns, dressing, scar prevention and reduction along with lymphoderma Physiotherapist has clinical independence.

Sports Physiotherapy

Sports Physiotherapy trains students to prevent, assess, and rehabilitate sports-related injuries through hands-on training in manual therapy, exercise prescription, taping, and performance enhancement, helping athletes recover faster and perform at their best.

Physiotherapy plays a significant role in modern era, there are increased health problems due to sedentary life style and environmental condition.

Master of Physiotherapy (M.P.T.), Ph.D, Fellowship programs & M.Sc (Osteopathy). With the complete infrastructure, the department is situated in a peaceful atmosphere where the students will enjoy their studies. It has well equipped laboratory, rich library and all kinds of necessary latest instruments with advanced technology. The coaching being given in this department is excellent in its nature. The highly dedicated and well experienced member of the faculty keep very cordial relationship with the students and trying their best to given individual attention to the students. They always take initiative in solving the problems of the students. The department is associated with well established Hospital for giving opportunities of practical experience in the O.P.Ds. The department has separate hostel for girls at a very secured place in the campus itself. It has a department bus for the convenience of the students and staff. Operating free physiotherapy camps every Saturday, running outpatient services for pensioners and underserved populations, and embedding social responsibility and outreach into the culture of our department.
